The core idea behind KaraokeSubs is simple: import your SRT, choose a subtitle style, tweak the look, and generate animated captions directly inside your edit. The goal is not to add another complicated pipeline. The goal is to make short-form subtitle styling faster for real editing work.
Right now, the plugin includes 6 built-in presets, including Pop Highlight, Sliding Box, Word Reveal, Highlight Box, Progress Box, and Classic Karaoke. These styles are aimed at the kinds of captions that are common across Shorts, Reels, TikTok, talking-head videos, tutorials, and other creator-led formats.
Short version: KaraokeSubs is a Premiere Pro subtitle plugin for editors who want modern animated captions without a recurring subscription.
Why the workflow matters
A lot of subtitle workflows either look dated, take too many steps, or force editors into extra apps when they only want a clean way to style captions quickly. KaraokeSubs focuses on keeping the process close to the Premiere Pro timeline while still giving enough control over color, font, stroke, spacing, and subtitle presentation.
Instead of paying for another recurring tool, KaraokeSubs uses a one-time purchase model. That makes it a practical option for freelance editors, solo creators, and small teams who want a Premiere Pro animated captions workflow they can keep using without another monthly fee.
Current workflow
- Import subtitle timing from an SRT file
- Pick one of the built-in animated caption presets
- Adjust the look inside the plugin
- Generate the final subtitle result inside Premiere Pro
More detailed release notes and feature updates will continue to be added over time, but this post serves as the public starting point for the KaraokeSubs launch.
